Completed Projects

Here are the projects that we have been involved in at some point. They are here only because we are not currently working in these areas. However this does not mean that we will not be working on them once again in the future.

If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact us.

Movida Madryn (2007)

In February 2007 we ran a campaign called Movida Madryn designed to evangelise the city of Puerto Madryn during the tourist season. This campaign drew people from Brazil, Chile, United States, Korea, and other parts of Argentina who worked together with us to reach our city.

Movida Madryn focused on many areas, with evangelism on the beaches, theatre shows for the children and their families, painting of walls in public places with messages showing Godly values, and more. It was a very successful time and left an impact on the city.

Tourism (2004-2006)

Puerto Madryn is one of the key destinations for the tourist industry in Argentina. Beyond receiving thousands of Argentine tourists each week during national holidays, many of whom have holiday homes here; many backpackers from all over the world also arrive. Additionally the city is an important port for international cruse ships with an average of three ships arriving every week; and bringing near to 5000 people with them.

It seems that God is bringing the nations to us

Until now we have been able to launch various evangelistic events with teams from other YWAM bases and with the churches here, but the idea is to form a permanent team that works exclusively with tourists. We hope to be able to offer accommodation (which would need to be built) and tours around the region as a way of reaching these travellers. Many are moving around the world looking for purpose in their lives.

Radio (2004-2005)

For a long time the radio has been an effective tool to reach the multitudes. It remains so today. Here in Argentina the radio is as popular as always and the churches in cities all over the country have invested time and money to transmit the Good News to people who need to hear.

Some of the local Christian radio stations gave us some air-time to help out in this ministry.

Our Program:

Program: A Different Day.

Radio: Jerusalem

Frequency 102.3 FM, in Puerto Madryn and surrounds.

Speakers: Edgar Garcia and Juan-Carlos Ginocchio.

Hours: Monday 10pm – 12am, Wednesday 9pm – 11pm.

Format: Informal. Includes music, news, chats on various themes, competitions, feedback comments, visits, etc.

Peru (2004-2006)

“A time of restoration for Peru”

Peru is a country destroyed by internal conflicts, political corruption, and poverty.

In July-August 2004, people from many YWAM bases in Argentina formed part of an outreach to Peru. They joined together with YWAM Colombia and the local churches with the intention of helping the people there and the hope of establishing a permanent YWAM base.

Recently, in the month of August 2005, two people from YWAM Patagonia went to work in a conference in Iquitos city (in the Amazon). There were more than 1000 people present throughout the week with general meetings, workshops, and outreaches into the local population.

Two things that came out of this conference were:

  1. The provision of thousands of Bibles to the hundreds of leaders and pastors that were present.
  2. The opening of a new YWAM base, the only one in Peru, with 15 people established and working there.

Here in YWAM Patagonia we have strong links with Peru and our work there. So we continue to support and help out where we can with this YWAM base and in other locations.

It is our hope to be able to send further teams to continue impacting these areas in the near future.
